A light supper will be provided from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. for those attending both certification courses.
This in-person course will be recorded and will be available to be viewed on demand. This will require a different registration. Registration for the on-demand course will be available when the recording is posted—this should be within one week of the in-person date. Members will then have 90 days to register and view this course for credit toward their certification.
Completion Criteria
To complete this workshop and receive the 3 MASBO and BOSA credits, you must attend no less than 90% of a session to be marked complete, and take the course test after the session is full. A link to the test can be accessed by clicking on the Completion and Certificate button. A score of 70% or higher on the test is required for successful completion of the course towards your certification program requirements. This session will be recorded for on-demand viewing 90 days after the original presentation date. Once the session has been viewed live or virtually, you have 30 days to complete your test to put towards certification.
Certification Program Requirements
The Minnesota Association of School Business Officials has established a voluntary certification program for all MASBO members and nonmembers. The courses are designed to train current and prospective school business officials, offering practical information to help members excel in their profession.
All Certification Courses are open to all members. However, an application for the Certification Program must be completed before attending the course to ensure participation in the program.
Anthony is the Director of Buildings and Grounds at the McGregor School District. Outside of the daily buildings and grounds duties, he assists in the LTFM planning for the district, serves as the school Health and Safety Coordinator and oversees all of the construction projects. He also supervised the referendum project that was completed in 2022. Anthony has been with the school district in this role since 2013.
Shelby is a Senior Municipal Advisor and serves as the Managing Director of Ehlers’ School Finance Team. She assists districts across Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois with long-term capital planning and navigating the implications of legislative proposals on debt issuance. Before joining the firm in 2016, Shelby worked with the Minnesota Senate as a non-partisan research analyst and fiscal analyst, developing education finance and tax policy.
Jodie is a Senior Municipal Advisor who joined Ehlers’ Education Finance Team in 2009. She previously served 15 years as the Director of Financial Operations for the South Washington County School District. Her first-hand knowledge of district financial operations gives her unique insight into referendum planning, tax impacts and debt issuance for education projects.
