Ben is a Vice President on the Midwest Regional Ratings Team covering local government credits in states across the Midwest portfolio, with a focus on Minnesota, Wisconsin and Ohio. Ben has published on a variety of topics including pension reform, fixed costs, school funding reform, cybersecurity, various developments in the charter school sector and the credit impacts public hospitals can have on large urban counties. In his leadership role, Ben chairs rating committees, supports workflow management and is a mentor for analysts on the Chicago team. Ben is a regular speaker and panelist at industry conferences and webinars, and he is an active member of the charter school task force. Prior to joining Moody’s, Ben was the Director of Pension Reform at the Illinois Policy Institute, a research organization. Ben holds a MA degree in Economics from George Mason University and a BA degree in Economics and Management from Beloit College
