Desi Felker brings with her twenty years of professional experience in education, writing, and communication. She joined the Marine Corps as a teenager and spent the following six years on various deployments and training exercises. She was meritoriously promoted to the ranks of both Corporal and Sergeant before being honorable discharged in 2012. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Nevada, as well as a Master of Fine Arts in Writing from Roosevelt University. Prior to PERA, Desi spent several years working in education and community outreach in both the public and private sectors. Desi has been with PERA since February of 2021 as an Outreach and Education Specialist. She is passionate about the art of communication and enjoys traveling across the state of Minnesota to meet and speak with stakeholders.
