Jim Martin began practicing employment and labor law in 1989 where he has focused on all areas of employment and labor law. He has represented both private and public sector clients in a variety of matters and serves as general counsel for clients seeking to ensure compliance with employment and labor law including drafting policies and employee handbooks and providing training on the full range of employment and labor topics. In addition, Jim serves as a hearing officer in termination cases under the Veterans Preference Act and student expulsion matters under the Minnesota Pupil Fair Dismissal Act. Jim has extensive experience conducting investigations of employee misconduct. Jim also has extensive experience in public sector employment and labor law gained through his seven years as Executive Director of Human Resources with the Bloomington, MN, Public Schools and five years as Director of Human Resources with the St. Louis Park, MN, Public Schools.
