    In just over a year the Menahga School was able to move from a September audit to a July audit that in the eyes of the auditors, it could not have been much more efficient and concise. Kyle Bergem, the Business Manager from Menahga and their auditor Brian Stavenger from Eide Bailly will explain the proactive strategies that led to this transformation from both perspectives.

LTFM details we all should know – aspects of UFARS coding; Ten-Year Expenditures Balance Sheet section; Bonding options; LTFM Revenue calculation.
     
  • Food Service Procurement Procedures
    Emily Honer, Supervisor, Business Operations Support Services, Minnesota Department of Education
    Most schools participate in the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program and the After School Snack Program. These programs are administered by MDE on behalf of the USDA. When a school decides to contract their meal service, not only must the school comply with federal and state procurement standards but must also provide MDE with specific information at certain times during the procurement process in order to comply with the USDA's school meal program. This 50 minute training will review the federal and state regulations, the process at the local level and which documents must be provided to MDE.
     
  • Indoor Air Quality: Regulations and Guidance

    There are several regulations, various recommendations, and many resources concerning indoor air quality in schools. This session will discuss IAQ and summarize requirements and guidelines to maintain and improve indoor air. The presentation will focus on IAQ plans, radon, ventilation, and air cleaning.

Education Credits

MASBO Credits
The “MASBO Credit” is now our standard credit, and will be offered for each one-hour live or recorded session. MASBO Credits can apply toward your MASBO certification designation. For live and recorded on-line sessions, your viewing is tracked by the Learning Center. If you have viewed at least 90% of the session, one MASBO Credit will automatically be granted to you—there is nothing else that you need to do to receive those credits.

MASBO credits are automatically available for viewing sessions in the Encore option. To also receive BOSA credits, select this option during your registration. CPE credits from NASBA are only available at the in-person conference, and not with the Encore conference option.


Cancellation Policy: Cancellations received by the MASBO office at least 48 hours prior to the event are eligible for a refund of the registration fee. No refunds will be provided for cancellations received fewer than 48 hours prior to the event.

Audio/Video Policy: Registration and attendance at, or participation at association events constitutes an agreement by the registrant to association’s use and distribution of the registrant or attendee’s image or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions and audiotapes of such events and activities.

Dan Tranter is the supervisor of the Indoor Air Unit at the Minnesota Department of Health. He has been with the Indoor Air Unit since 2001 and has a Master of Public Health Degree from the University of Minnesota. The Indoor Air Unit conducts research, education and outreach concerning indoor air quality, especially radon, mold and carbon monoxide. Unit staff also regulate smoking in public places, air quality in enclosed sports arenas, and radon professional licensure.
