After graduating from Iowa State University with a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Kim Franta worked for hospitality partners before feeling a call to serve her community differently. Growing up in a home with teachers, education felt like a natural fit. She has since merged her passion for hospitality and food with K-12 education as the Nutrition Services Director for several Minnesota school districts. In her role at CESO, she works with school districts to assess and strengthen the financial health of nutrition programs in school districts.
